He has 3 sisters and a brother. All of his sisters are doctors. Most of his family members reside at the United States now. Before getting into the Nepalese film industry, Rajesh Hamal aligned himself to modeling and has modeled for an Indian Fashion Magazine, Fashion Net and had also engaged himself in other modeling works in Nepal and India. He made his way into the Nepalese film industry with the movie “Yug Dekhi Yog Samma” which was made by his uncle in 1990. After his first movie “Yug Dekhi Yug Samma”, there has been no looking back for this immensely talented actor. On average, he works on 10-12 Nepali movies a year and till date he has acted in over 180 movies including one Pakistani movie. Devata and Basanti are his favorite among the movies he’s acted.
In his early years, Rajesh Hamal liked to collect badges with pins. Now, he likes to follow the world news and read non-fiction books and autobiographies in his leisure time. He also loves playing tennis and swimming. He jogs everyday and has a personal gym at his home. Rajesh Hamal also loves spending time with this dog, Johnny. Rajesh Hamal has always had long hair. He was extremely conscious with the way his hair looked since his childhood and would wear a cap while sleeping so that his hair would not look unkempt the next day. :-) Once, he shaved his hair to show his father that he can indeed have short hair.
Many of us don’t know that Rajesh Hamal is acrophobic, i.e. he’s afraid of heights and has a stunt man to perform for him in movies when it comes to movie scenes that require dealing with heights. Rajesh Hamal when 17 fell in love with a 22 years old Indian girl but their love was short lived as the girl’s parents married the girl to someone else. He was linked with Kristi Mainali in his earlier carrier and later with Karishma Manandhar. Rajesh Hamal is still single and says he’s comfortable being single.
Rajesh Hamal is a brand ambassador for some well selling items and a Goodwill Ambassador for the Nepalese Government’s campaign against drug abuse in the country. Now-a-days Rajesh Hamal also hosts a quiz show “Wai-Wai Quiz-Whiz” on Kantipur Television Channel.
Rajesh Hamal’s presence and talent has turned KollyWood into an one man show. His acting skills, voice and personality place him at a much higher level than all his colleagues in the Nepalese Film Industry.
Rajesh Hamal, the great Nepalese actor can be taken as the one and only professional actor in the Nepalese Movie Industry, KolyWood. He's the one who's injected professionalism in KolyWood. Yeah some of you may argue there's Bhuvan K.C, Nikhil Uprety and blah blah. But with our due respect for other actors and actresses, we at Rajesh-Hamal.blogspot.com think that KolyWood is really a one man show. If any other actors feel offended after reading this, please don't be, but we can't help it, it's a FACT.
Rajesh Hamal is an immensely popular film personality in Nepal, yet, there's not a single website or a blog to exclusively talk about this great actor. Had he been an actor from India or the US, there would have been thousands of websites or blogs on the Internet about him, but for this amazingly talented actor from Nepal, there are no blogs, websites or fan clubs that can be found on the internet.
We would like to pay our respect for Rajesh Hamal, the great Nepali Actor and above all to a Great Human being with this blog. We hope to gather contents to write about him from all sectors and we hope that his fans can and will help us on this one. If you have anything, a picture, an article, or any other stuffs related to this great man, do share with us and we would be happy to showcase it in this blog. Due credit will be given to the submitter.
We hope people will enjoy reading this blog and participate with us to make Rajesh Hamal popular on the Internet as well.
